Hard to believe that our little Allie is two! Her birthday was this past weekend and we had such a fun day celebrating. She started the day with "breakfast in bed," and then we headed to a city carnival and rode the carousel. In the afternoon while Allie was sleeping, we decorated for her party. Aubrey and I finished her cake and set out her presents. Thanks to everyone who sent cards and packages -she felt very loved! Adam and Alexis went out to get what Allie has wanted most for her birthday...balloons! She was so excited when she woke up and loved her party. Right in the middle of opening presents, she reached out and stuck her fingers in her cake; why not! It looked tasty and it was her cake! After presents, we went out for pizza (one of her favorite foods) and then came back for cake and ice cream and an episode of Mickey Mouse. It was a fun day and Allie was full of enthusiasm for all of it. She is happy to be two (altough if you ask her, she'll tell you she is three). We love having Allie in our family! She has always been such a joy to us.

Simplicity
Something I have loved about Spring, is the return of simple pleasures. Winter seemed awfully busy this year; days were full and rushed and there wasn't as much "sit and enjoy each other" time as I'd have liked to have. Spring has brought it back. We love spending time outside, going for walks and bike rides, picnics at the park, ice cream cones, bubbles, and playing in the rain. We love Spring!
