Dancing Queen

Alexis had a dance recital this past weekend. She had so much fun! They had a dress rehersal on Friday night and then the performance on Saturday. She was a little bit worried about her costume in the beginning; she thought it was way too short and felt a bit ridiculous (it didn't help that Aubrey was laughing at her). In the end(after doing hair and make-up and seeing her friends in theirs), I think she really liked it and even wore it to class today by choice. She loved dancing on stage and being with friends. They performed both a tap and ballet number and did a great job. We were proud of her! She was pretty excited about the bouquet of flowers her dad gave her after the recital. She could hardly wait to put them in a vase on the table once we got home. I remember how special I used to feel when my dad would bring me flowers to things like that (or for any occasion); he has always been good about giving flowers at just the right times. It feels a bit sureal to be doing that for our own kids now.
